Group De Cloedt

Consultancy assignment for Group De Cloedt: Creating a future-proof car policy with the right partners

Group De Cloedt has already taken important steps in the electrification of their company fleet by integrating electrified cars into the choice list for their employees. But that also means adapting the company’s car policy. How do you start with that? Which suppliers do you choose best? What rules and regulations do you define for home and office chargers? With these questions, Group De Cloedt turned to TraXall Consulting Services.

A car policy that takes all situations into account

Group De Cloedt is a family business specialising in aggregates, dredging, environment and logistics. The company offers a wide range of services related to these activities: from maintenance dredging to soil remediation and beach replenishment. In their transition to electrification, by the end of 2022, the selection list of company cars had already been changed to plugin-hybrid company cars. Today, after an intensive process with TraXall Consulting Services, they also have an updated and clear version of their car policy ready that takes all situations into account, and are working with the right partners.

The transition to electrification is quite complex because, as an employer, you have to think about a lot of things and make the right decisions. Which charging station supplier do you team up with? What rules do you apply to home charging and charging on site? You also need to think about the costs when employees move or leave the company. We felt it was important to let experts guide us in this process. TraXall Consulting Services knows the market inside out and not only gave us advice but also guided us through the entire project in a structured way: from proposing adjustments to the current car policy, the selection procedure of the right partners to reviewing contracts.

HR Manager, Group De Cloedt

Switching to electric company cars is a major change in a company. Group De Cloedt has handled it excellently. For companies that still have to make this exercise, I would like to give the following advice: always compare all parameters. Do not only look at the cost of installing the charging station, but also the monthly cost of managing the charging station and reimbursements to employees at home, as well as the cost associated with the charging card for public charging. There are several options on the market: fixed monthly cost, cost per transaction or cost per kWh. It is important to take the time to determine the best option for your business.
