A promising start at Traxall Belgium

After six months as Team lead at TraXall Belgium, Sarah has firmly established her place within the team. With a diverse background in retail and business development, she found an environment at TraXall where she could contribute and grow immediately. In this interview, Sarah shares her experiences of the past few months, her first impressions of the company, and what drives her to get the best out of herself and her team every day.

Can you tell us a bit about your previous experiences before you started here?

Sarah: ‘Of course! Before joining TraXall Belgium, I had a diverse career. I started as a retail officer at TUI, working centrally for the TUI shops and providing support. Then I joined Breex, where I worked as a business developer in various departments such as contract processing and managing the call agent team. I have always loved change and love taking on new challenges.’

What attracted you to the Team lead vacancy at TraXall?

Sarah: ‘What really appealed to me was the combination of people management and operational work. I didn’t just want to manage a team, but to be involved in the day-to-day operations myself and actively think along with management. From day one, I had a lot of say and was involved in important projects, such as setting up the new structure within the company. I never felt like the ‘newbie’ and immediately got the feeling that my input was valued.’

How have you experienced the past six months at TraXall?

Sarah: ‘It has been tough but also incredibly fun. The industry never stands still, and every day I learn something new. There never comes a time when you can sit still, but that’s what makes it challenging. What I really appreciate is the guidance I received. There was enough time to find my own place, and there is a lot of dialogue within the company. Everyone is very approachable, and that makes you feel at home very quickly.’

What was your first impression of the company?

Sarah: ‘From day one, I noticed that everyone welcomes you with open arms. The feeling of ‘one team’ is really present here. The start-up lunch and personal introductions to everyone in the office definitely contributed to this. Lindsay, my dedicated buddy let’s say, was great at checking how I was doing and recently took me out for lunch. You immediately feel part of the team.’

What do you find important in your work?

Sarah: ‘I love change and it is important for me to be able to work both independently and as part of a team. At TraXall, I work not only with my own team, but also closely with the other two team leads. Each department contributes its bit, which ensures that you can learn a lot from each other. The sector is constantly changing, especially with the rise of electric cars. This requires continuous adaptation and that keeps me on my toes. The company’s communication and online presence, such as on LinkedIn, have also convinced me that this is a place where I want to work.’

How do you see the future at TraXall?

Sarah: ‘Progress is essential for me, both for the company and for myself. In my role, I want to continue to grow and support the people around me in their development. At TraXall, it’s not only about optimising, but also about creating a safe place where everyone dares to give feedback and, above all, can be themselves. There is always room for dialogue, and this ensures that we can continue to grow as a team. Standing still is not an option, and I see that reflected in the company’s five values. We always keep moving, and that motivates me to get the best out of myself and my team. Let’s move forward as one team!’

From day one, I noticed that everyone welcomes you with open arms. The feeling of ‘one team’ is really present here. The start-up lunch and personal introductions to everyone in the office certainly contributed to this.
